June 30 in cities across the world, including Michigan, celebrated and recognized Social Media Day!  It was fun and exciting to see who people have made “new media” work for them in their professional realm.

At first I went to celebration at MotorCity Casino!  That placed was packed with people and twitter feeds, etc.  The DJ and the food was probably my favorite part!  I will definitely be sure to bring some friends with me next year – I had no idea how the event was going to be set up (but they didn’t disappoint).

After that I went to volunteered at the Allied Media Conference.  I was signed up for both Saturday and Sunday, but I was not feeling well on Sunday (it had to do with me doing my own stunts).  I saw an interesting panel on how people who are living with disabilities and are LGBT affiliated deal with sexual encounters.  This was definitely not a session to bring the kids to, but it was still beneficial and informative.

That concluded my #SMDay!  I cannot wait until next year!  I know it’s going to be bigger and funner!  :)
